THIS IS THE THIRD IN A SERIES OF ANNUAL REPORTS DEALING WITH FINDINGS FROM THE NATIONAL CRIME SURVEY.
Abstract
ONE HUNDRED STATISTICAL TABLES, COVERING INFORMATION ON VICTIMS, OFFENDERS, CRIME CHARACTERISTICS, AND OTHER TOPICS, ARE BASED ON A REPRESENTATIVE SURVEY OF SOME 136,000 PERSONS AND 14,400 BUSINESSES ACROSS THE NATION. SELECTED FINDINGS ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN A SPECIAL SECTION. INFORMATION CONCERNING VICTIM SELF-PROTECTION IS ALSO PRESENTED. METHODOLOGICAL APPENDIXES AND A SERIES OF TECHNICAL NOTES ARE INCLUDED AS AIDS TO THE INTERPRETATION OF SURVEY RESULTS.
