Abstract
THE POLICE PROSECUTION REPORT IS COMPLETED BY THE ARRESTING OFFICER PRIOR TO THE OFFICER'S MEETING WITH THE SCREENING PROSECUTOR. THE REPORT CONTAINS ESSENTIAL DETAILS OF THE CASE, INCLUDING DATA DESIGNATED FOR ENTRY IN PROMIS, A LEAA EXEMPLARY PROJECT. THE SAME FORM IS USED BY ALL POLICE AGENCIES IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, THUS ASSURING THAT PROSECUTORS CONSISTENTLY RECEIVE COMPLETE CASE DETAILS, UNIFORMLY RECORDED, FOR USE IN ARRIVING AT INFORMED CHARGING DECISIONS. AFTER REVIEW BY THE SCREENING PROSECUTOR, THE FORM IS FILED IN THE CASE JACKET. A COPY OF THE FORM AND BRIEF EXPLANATIONS OF SOME OF THE ITEMS ARE PRESENTED.
