Abstract
THIS BOOK COMBINES BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ON 14,693 JUDGES FROM ALL LEVELS OF FEDERAL AND STATE COURTS WITH JURISDICTIONAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ON THE COURTS THEY SERVE. THE REFERENCES ARE FOR THE USE OF LAWYERS, LIBRARIANS, LAW STUDENTS, BUSINESSES, AND MANY OTHERS. THERE IS ONE SECTION ON THE UNITED STATES COURTS AND A SECTION FOR EACH STATE AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. EACH OF THESE SECTIONS IS SUBDIVIDED INTO THREE PARTS. THE FIRST CONTAINS DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION ON EACH COURT IN THE STATE, INCLUDING LOCATION, JURISDICTION AND METHOD OF SELECTION OF JUDGES. THE SECOND PART INCLUDES MAPS SHOWING JUDICIAL DIVISIONS AND SUBDIVISIONS FOR THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURTS IN EACH STATE AND FOR THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS. THE FINAL PART CONTAINS BIOGRAPHIES OF THE JUDGES, ARRANGED ALPHABETICALLY AND CONTRIBUTED BY THE JUDGES. AN ALPHABETICAL NAME INDEX IS PROVIDED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED--BAC)
