Abstract
THE HEARINGS WERE DESIGNED TO CLARIFY PROCESSES BY WHICH WRONGDOING BY GOVERNMENTAL OFFICIALS IS HANDLED AND TO GIVE THE CONGRESS AND THE PUBLIC SOME IDEA OF THE EXTENT TO WHICH SENSITIVE ISSUES, PARTICULARLY THOSE INVOLVING EVIDENCE COLLECTION AND INFORMATION ACCESS, ARE BEING INVESTIGATED AND PROSECUTED. INCLUDED IN THE RECORD OF THE HEARINGS ARE POLICY STATEMENTS BY THE U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL, THE DIRECTOR OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (FBI) AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION OF THE GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICE. LETTERS, STATEMENTS, EXHIBITS, AND OTHER MATERIALS RELEVANT TO THE HEARINGS ARE ALSO PROVIDED.
