Abstract
THIS STATISTICAL MATTER IS PRECEDED BY A NOTE ON THE GENERAL REPORTING AND SURVEY SYSTEM USED FOR COLLECTION. DATA ARE THEN PROVIDED ON CRIME BY TYPE OF CRIME, AGE OF SUSPECT, AND CLEARANCE RATES. DATA ARE USED TO SHOW THE AVERAGE NUMBERS OF STATE AND MUNICIPAL POLICE, AND COURT STATISTICS CONSIDER NUMBERS OF CASES BY JURISDICTION AND COURT, BY CONVICTIONS AND SENTENCES, AND BY NUMBERS OF SUSPENDED SENTENCES. CORRECTIONS STATISTICS REPORT THE PENAL INSTITUTION POPULATION DENSITY AND CLASSIFY IT BY AGE AND CHANGE IN THE NUMBER OF INMATES, LENGTH OF SENTENCES, AND RELEASES ON LICENSE. DATA ON OFFENSES BY CHILDREN ALSO INDICATE CASES DISPOSITION. THE FINAL TABLES PRESENT FIGURES ON TAX OFFENSES AND CONVICTIONS AND ON BANKRUPTCY. (DAG)
