MOST OF THE ITEMS COVER THE PERIOD 1965 THROUGH 1975. MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED FROM CANADA, THE UNITED STATES, ENGLAND, INDIA, ICELAND, AUSTRALIA, AND NEW ZEALAND. THE INTRODUCTION COVERS THE HISTORY OF CHILD ABUSE AND ITS RECOGNITION AS A SOCIAL PROBLEM, SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS OF ABUSE, EFFECTS OF ABUSE ON THE CHILD, ETIOLOGY OF CHILD ABUSE, MANAGEMENT OF CHILD ABUSE, AND LEGAL INTERVENTION. THE MATERIALS THEMSELVES COVER THE PSYCHOLOGICAL, SOCIAL, MEDICAL, AND LEGAL ASPECTS.
