Abstract
GENERAL PROVISIONS OF THE ACT DEAL WITH THE PURPOSE AND SUBJECT OF DATA PROTECTION, DEFINITIONS, THE ADMISSIBILITY OF DATA PROCESSING, RIGHTS OF PERSONS INVOLVED, CONFIDENTIALITY, AND TECHNICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL MEASURES. MORE SPECIFIC PROVISIONS OF THE ACT PERTAIN TO DATA PROCESSING BY PUBLIC AUTHORITIES AND OTHER PUBLIC BODIES, DATA PROCESSING BY PRIVATE BODIES FOR THEIR OWN PURPOSES, COMMERCIAL DATA PROCESSING BY PRIVATE BODIES FOR OTHER PARTIES IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF BUSINESS, PENALTIES AND FINES, AND TRANSITIONAL AND FINAL PROVISIONS. PARTICULAR ATTENTION IS PAID IN THE ACT TO DATA STORAGE AND MODIFICATION, DATA DISSEMINATION, PUBLIC NOTICES CONCERNING STORED DATA, THE CORRECTION AND BLOCKING OF DATA, THE APPOINTMENT OF A FEDERAL COMMISSIONER FOR DATA PROTECTION AND LEGAL STATUS AND DUTIES OF THIS POSITION, THE APPOINTMENT OF A CONTROLLER OF DATA PROTECTION AND DUTIES OF THIS POSITION, OFFENSES, BREACHES OF REGULATIONS, ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES, AND THE BERLIN CLAUSE.
