The publication of the International Criminal Police Organization-Interpol General Secretariat describes motor vehicle registration systems of about 100 countries.
Abstract
The purpose of the document is to facilitate the rapid identification of motor vehicles by the police. A brief description of the system of registration in use in the country concerned is followed by reproductions of individual registration plates in color and to scale. The elliptical plate used for driving in other countries appears at the top of the page for reproductions and is followed by specimen plates for ordinary cars, heavy vehicles, coaches, and motor cycles (where they show distinctive features). Each part of the document is written in French and English.
