This sound-slide audiovisual program introduces the binomial distribution. Discussions cover usage of the binomial distribution with experiments consisting of independent trials, success or failure of experiments, and application of the binomial distribution.
Abstract
Example, problem, and solution frames follow the explanation of each new concept. In addition, a worksheet gives students more experience with the types of problems discussed. The worksheet may be duplicated for classroom use along with the program; answers to the program are included in the teacher's guide. The major topics considered in this program are (1) independent experiments or trials, (2) success or failure of events, (3) notation for the binomial distribution, (4) application of the binomial distribution, and (5) derivation of the binomial distribution.
