Abstract
Objectives of the yearbook are to provide an overall survey of legal statistics in a form comparable to previously published statistics and to list legal statistics published elsewhere and report from current research projects. The book describes routines within the Judiciary Information System which provides a basis for statistics, changes in legislation since the previous year, and revisions of statistical routines. The statistics about crimes reflect the visible criminality in the community. Crime data supplied pertain to crimes reported to the police, crimes solved, and persons suspected of having committed crimes. Statistics cover the following offenses: crimes against the penal code except drunkenness and disorderly conduct, crimes against the Road Traffic Offenses Act, crimes against special Penal Acts and Statutes, and crimes against special Penal Acts and Statutes, and crimes against special Statutes even if they only call for fines. Tabular material covers arrests and detention, persons charged with crimes, the correctional system, and recidivism in crimes. A brief summary at the beginning of each major section explains the significance of the extensive tables. The report contains summaries in English.
