The bibliography, which consists of over 700 unannotated entities, examines fundamental issues in police-community relations, including human relations, citizens' rights, racial tensions, family crisis intervention, and community projects.
Abstract
Racial tensions and student unrest in the 1960's illustrated the need for police-community relations programs. Several cities have begun crime prevention and police-community relations programs designed to lower the crime rate and reduce the fear of crime within a community. Included in the bibliography are descriptions of projects and workshops in police-community relations, school visitations, citizen complaints, and inservice training. These projects are designed to alleviate community tensions and stimulate understanding and cooperation between police and citizens. However, no subject headings are included. The entries are arranged in alphabetically by author. Citations give information on the author, publisher, title, publication date, and city.
