Tables show the number of minors placed under supervision from 1965 to 1978 and the percentage of minors in the population by age group. Statistics are provided on the number of children placed under supervision in civil and criminal cases by districts, age groups, and kind of placement for 1976 to 1978 (and in some cases earlier); number of children placed in the temporary custody of the Council for Child Protection in 1976 and 1977 by district, age group, and reason for placement; and the number of children removed from the custody of parents or guardians by reason for removal, age groups and district. Also listed are the number of children returned to parental authority from 1976 to 1978, contributions of parents of children removed from their homes to the support of those children in 1978, and the number of adoptions from 1976 to 1978. Another set of tables indicates the number of personnel in various national juvenile institutions, the population and transfers in the institutions, length of stays in the institutions, religion and age of institutionalized minors, and movement of juveniles within institutions. A final group of tables supplies figures on the number, age, religion, sex, and location of children placed under guardian supervision. Graphs on children under supervision and adoptions from 1960 to 1978 are included.
