Abstract
The general topic areas for the bibliography are sex roles, statistical profile of the female offender, general works on the female offender, specific offense analysis, women and the law, women in court, women in jails, women in prison, community-based corrections, and juveniles. Under the topic of specific offense analysis, the offenses considered are abortion, crimes of violence, drug use, homicide, prostitution, shoplifting, and alcoholism. Specific issues considered by documents listed under the category of 'women in prison' are families of women inmates, women's prisons, prison administration, prison treatment programs, prison social organization, psychological problems of female inmates, and biographies and memoirs of female inmates and administrators of female prisons.
