Different holster models offer varying potentials for safety, security, and speed. Each of the three gun holster models is first described in terms of its physical appearance, how it holds and supports the gun, and the position of the retaining or release straps. The draw used for each type of holster is then examined. Hand and finger positions are noted. Body and shoulder motions are detailed. Both grip and the position of the release straps are discussed. Each holster is then analyzed in terms of speed, security, and safety. The Jordan draw is said to be the simplest and fastest of the three, but only with the release snap not in place, and thus vulnerable to assailant attacks. Security is measured by the vulnerability of a gun in each type of holster to attacks from assailants. Safety is analyzed in terms of the possibility of accidentally shooting the gun before it is in the proper shooting position. Photographs are provided.
