The report describes the commissioners and their staff, presents a brief history of the commission, and highlights the year's major accomplishments. It focuses on the activities of the commission's various departments and includes a statistical presentation and financial statement. Special attention is given the activities following the implementation of both the State's new objective parole criteria and the recent requirement that a presumptive parole release date be set for each inmate. During the report year, 6,335 paroles were granted, compared to 4,324 in the previous year. Mandatory conditional releases numbered 1,413; and in 1,761 revocation proceedings, parole or mandatory conditional release was revoked in 1,023 cases. Data tables are included.
