Crime rate figures are noted for the years 1972 to 1979 and are broken down into the following categories for adult violent crimes: abduction (which includes kidnapping), armed holdup, assault and rob, aggravated assault, nonaggravated assault, demand money with menaces (which includes extortion), manslaughter, murder, indecent assault, and rapes and attempts. Motives and causes are proposed for each category of crime, and some examples of several types of offenses are provided. Special attention is then turned to juvenile delinquent crimes, with breakdowns for male and female offenders, criminal offenses under the Crimes Act, juveniles dealt with under the Child Welfare Act, offenders under other acts, and totals of all offenders. Two appendixes summarize the data in charts.
