The 700 resources listed include rape crisis centers, community mental health centers, medical facilities, women's centers and commissions, Young Women's Christian Associations, police departments, district attorneys' offices, State and local organizations and government agencies, university women's centers, medical and legal associations, and individuals who have expertise in the problems resulting from sexual assault. The listings are arranged alphabetically by State and territory and by city and county within each State. The Canadian entries follow the last State listing and are arranged alphabetically by Provinces and cities within Provinces. Each entry contains the program title, address, telephone number, and hotline information where applicable. The services provided are described in terms of the populations served, types of counseling available, and other services offered, including training for counselors and other professionals, liaison with other service agencies, community education, childcare, and temporary shelters.
