The first section of the manual instructs the user on how to get into the system and do searches for a variety of information. This includes information on starting up after being disconnected, getting out of the system, the contents of the data bank, how to print information from the bibliographic data base, how to return from printing to searching, how to print lengthy documents, and changing data bases. The second section of the manual exposes the user to ever increasing levels of system capability. This includes a description of the organization of the Bibliographic Retrieval Service databases, a description of the online dialog, and discussions of the loading program, searchable paragraphs, the dictionary file, stopwords, and positional information. Detailed instructions are then provided for the retrieval of documents in the files.
