The annual report for 1980-81 of the New Mexico Judicial Department presents information about the Administrative Office of the Courts, the State supreme court, court of appeals, district courts, juvenile probation services, magistrate courts, Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, and subsidiary judicial agencies.
Abstract
The Administrative Office of the Courts' organization and history and penalty assessment program are discussed. The State supreme court scheduled 30 days of oral arguments and heard 154 cases during its 69th fiscal year; it handed down 229 opinions and disposed of 236 cases. Data are given for the New Mexico Court of Appeals concerning new filings, case dispositions, motions, and other related matters. Tables show report of appeals by county and criminal appeals by category of crime. Tables, maps, charts, and notes are supplied.
