Demand for all the services provided by the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders (NACRO) increased substantially during the year, and 34 new NACRO projects were established between April 1981 and March 1982.
Abstract
A total of 150 more places to accommodate homeless ex-offenders were provided, and 200 more are in the planning stage. The report discusses NACRO's efforts to aid homeless ex-offenders, its education work and research with young offenders, NACRO's day centers, services for juvenile offenders, and employment development efforts. Other NACRO activities reported encompass crime prevention; alternatives to custodial sentences for black offenders aged 16-25; and research, policy formulation, and public education. Financial data and lists of NACRO members and projects are included. Photographs are supplied.
