Abstract
The value of property stolen in 1981 increased 5.2 percent compared to 1980, while the value of property recovered decreased from the previous year. Arrests totaled 75,499 in 1981 compared to 75,567 in 1980. Tables and figures illustrate data on crime Index offenses committed, arrests, law enforcement officers killed or assaulted, and law enforcement agency personnel.
