The Neighborhood Crime Watch Program is designed to reduce the incidence of crime by increasing citizen awareness of burglary and other neighborhood crime. Awareness is created through a continuing information program, citizen training in better security prevention measures, and a program for neighbors to help watch each other's property.
Abstract
The manual describes suspicious activities and notes the importance of calling the police department immediately about all such activities. It outlines the information most often needed, obvious things to watch for, and less obvious activities to note. In addition, the block captain's responsibilities are listed, and program materials (block map and questionnaires) are appended.
