Abstract
It discusses the doctor's exam, including procedures for gathering evidence and pregnancy and venereal disease tests. It explains what types of questions the detective will ask to gather the facts, the victim's rights, the rapist's arrest, and court procedures. Definitions are given of preliminary hearings, grand jury hearings, arraignment, and plea bargains. Sentencing and appeal are also discussed. The possibility of a civil court suit and the help offered by a rape crisis line are noted. A glossary defines words used in rape cases.
