The semiannual data are given for crimes and nonindictable offenses for cases recorded by the State and municipal police and the Royal Marechaussee as well as in comparative summary tables going back to 1978. The month's statistics for June are tabulated in terms of investigated and nonindictable offenses by Province, according to groups of municipalities, and by the nature of the crime. Cases recorded by the criminal police, the Royal Marechaussee, and the State and municipal police are reported separately. Statistics on persons taken into custody are compared with data from 1981. Additional tables report data on criminality and nationality for 1980, offenses against the drug act for 1980, and on bankruptcies and fires for part of 1982. Most of the document is in tabular form.
