The survey had 93 percent male respondents and 7 percent female respondents. Of the young persons aged 14-17, 78 percent were charged with crimes against property. The police decided to prosecute in 67 percent of all cases. Among the persons liable to punishment, 38 percent were sentenced to unconditional and 28 percent to conditional imprisonment. More than half of the youths aged 14-17 were placed under care of child welfare committees. Among the offenders fined, 85 percent accepted ticket fines. Nearly 2 percent of the offenders were acquitted by the court. Among persons sentenced to unconditional imprisonment, 35 percent were charged with both a crime and a misdemeanor. In 50 percent of the cases, the misdemeanor was related to driving under the influence of alcohol.
