The theory and physical equipment involved in providing physical security for banks are explained and illustrated, with emphasis on the standards set by the Bank Protection Act as revised in 1973 and the Insurance Services Offices.
Abstract
Information on burglary prevention focuses on the vault, night depositories, automatic tellers, auxiliary safes, alarm lines, and building perimeters and interior spaces. Information on robbery prevention focuses on silent alarms, surveillance cameras, bandit barriers, and remote transaction systems. Equipment described include money clips, pull buttons, toe switches, camera activators, teller stations equipped with television, and remote transaction systems. The protection of computer, counting, and proofing rooms is also explained. Details are given on surveillance cameras and outside alarm connections. Photographs, diagrams, and notes are supplied.
