Abstract
The Bureau of Criminal Justice Assistance compiled this information to highlight the broad scope of victim-witness issues in the Florida criminal justice system and to link existing legislation with selected victim-witness concerns. The report categorizes statutes into the following areas: child abuse, citizen complaint, corrections/parole/probation, courts, crime compensation, crime and the elderly/handicapped, crime prevention, juveniles, planning, law enforcement, medical/hospital, coordination and planning, miscellaneous criminal codes, prosecution and public defenders, restitution, sexual battery, spouse abuse, and witness management. Within these groups, the document identifies the statute and its relevant provisions and summarizes the content as well as its implications for victims and witnesses. Over 100 laws and regulations are covered.
