In 1982, 70 percent of all offenders in New Jersey's adult prisons were committed for crimes against persons which include homicide, rape, assaults, robbery, sodomy, sexual abuse, etc. A total of 63 percent of all New Jersey offenders (including youth) were committed for crimes against persons.
