Abstract
The value of property stolen in 1982 totaled $52,925,959, a decrease of 7.3 percent compared to the previous year. Arrests totaled 77,463 compared to 75,499 in 1981, a 2.7-percent increase. Tables and figures provide data on offenses committed, arrests, law enforcement officers killed or assaulted, and law enforcement employees. Maps, a glossary, and statutory requirements are included.
