This document presents the uniform crime statistics in Texas for 1982, citing an estimated total of 962,260 Index offenses in the State during the calendar year.
Abstract
The report covers Index offenses in terms of volume, violent crime, property crime, clearances, stolen property value, stolen and recovered property value, value of property lost, percentage property value recovered, clearance rates, and violent/nonviolent crime. Statistics are also provided specifically on murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. Additional tables give Texas crime by contributor, Texas arrest data, Texas law enforcement officers killed or assaulted, and law enforcement employees. The bulk of the document consists of charts and tabular data.
