The literature on genetic factors in criminal behavior is considered. Family studies indicate that an excellent predictor of crime in a son is his having a father with a criminal record.
Abstract
Twin studies show that identical twins are more concordant for criminal behavior than fraternal twins. The results of an adoption study in Denmark are described. Evidence is presented that some factor is genetically transmitted which increases a child's predisposition to engage in criminal behavior. Tables and 24 references are included.
