In 1982, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department (Florida) adopted a completely restructured zone and beat boundary scheme as part of a plan to efficiently allocate resources. It also hosted a conference for over 20 different agenices involved in the Florida Criminal Apprehension Program.
Abstract
The Department experienced a 5-percent drop in the total reported offenses while concurrently increasing its arrests by 6 percent. Tables, graphs, photographs, and text give data on the Department, crimes, arrests, and finances. Traffic accidents and assaults on officers are also reported.
