These data tables give statistics on the persons admitted into the four main correctional programs administered by the Correctional Services Department of Hong Kong in 1982: prison, training centers, detention centers, and drug addiction treatment centers.
Abstract
The statistics cover age, education, occupation, marital status, sex, previous convictions, offense, and type and length of sentence. Data on drug-dependent persons cover the types of drugs used, methods of administering the drug, sentence, age, length of drug dependence, and cause. Comparative data for 1981 and 1982 show numbers of inmates, lengths of sentences for male and female offenders, types of offenses, and prior incarcerations.
