Additional programs described focus on use of natural gas as an alternative fuel for patrol cars, counseling for police personnel by chaplain volunteers, a Crime Stoppers media campaign to solicit citizen information on crime, and development of more efficient scheduling for patrol officers. Other programs are devoted to development of reserve police officers, reorganization of traffic ticket processing using a management information system, crime prevention through improved community relations, and implementation of standardized training procedures through use of a field training manual.
