Since arbitration hearing procedures are largely patterned on the Voluntary Labor Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). This book explains how to proceed under these rules. It contains practical advice to parties based on the AAA's experience in administering over 100,000 labor cases. The Voluntary Labor Arbitration Rules are printed in full as are the Expedited Employment Arbitration Rules and the Expedited Labor Arbitration Rules, which provide a 'fast-track' service for appropriate cases. Also included are recommendations as to how parties can reduce cost and delay in their arbitration cases. A principal chapter describes some of the factors to be considered when selecting an arbitrator. To encourage high ethical practices in arbitration, the Code of Professional Responsibility for Arbitrators of Labor-Management Disputes is presented. About 120 bibliographic listings are provided.
