A study of police officers who died in the line of duty in Metro Dade County, U.S.A. was performed.
Abstract
All cases in which a law enforcement officer died while on duty or, off duty while performing police action were collected from the files of the Medical Examiner Department from 1956 to 1982. Cases were then analyzed as to age, race, sex, cause and manner of death, scene circumstances, alcohol and drugs detected at autopsy. A total of 37 cases was studied. (Publisher abstract)
