This codebook presents the data collection instrument, coding, and unweighted results from a 1980 survey designed to evaluate the effects of the 'Take a Bite Out of Crime' crime prevention campaign.
Abstract
The study used a one-call, quasi-probability design to examine a national sample. A total of 1,454 interviews were completed. The 352 variables covered geographical information, worries, ideas on keeping healthy, perceptions of advertisements, time spent using various media forms, information sources, neighborhood crime information, methods of self-protection, neighborhood crime prevention activities, and demographic information on respondents. The data are available in card-image and OSIRIS formats. A variable description list is provided.
