For most of the countries, both offense and conviction data were obtainable for at least part of the 30-year period. Cases are separated by country and year. For each country, data are available for eight crime categories: murder, assault, robbery, theft, white-collar crime, sex offenses, and public order offenses. A definition of each offense category is provided in the glossary. The last two sections of the derived indicators explain how the indicators are derived from known crimes and convictions for selected offenses. Annual changes in the number of crimes and convictions for selected offenses -- crimes of aggression, serious theft, all theft, white-collar crimes, sexual offenses, and public order offenses -- are also indicated.
