This volume presents the variables and the coding used in the four data files covering the civil and criminal cases processed in the Federal courts in 1962-63 and 1963-64.
Abstract
The data file includes close to 200,000 cases. The codebook has two sections, each section representing one card of data for 1962-63 and one card of data for 1963-64. The data cover the circuit, month filed, year filed, offense, offender characteristics, date terminated, and disposition for criminal cases. For civil cases, similar data and the nature of the action are covered.
