Annotation: These 1984 statistics on households victimized by crime are derived from National Crime Survey data on rape, personal robbery, assault, household burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft.
Abstract: A narrative discussion of the findings covers race of household, family income, place of residence, household size, and multiple victimization of households. Other narrative sections discuss trends, factors affecting trends, and survey methodology. Tabular data address (1) households victimized by crime, 1984, and relative percent change since 1983; (2) number and percent distribution of victimized households by crime type, 1975-84; (3) percent of victimized households by selected characteristics, 1984; (4) percent of victimized households by size of household, 1984; and (5) the ratio of incidents to victimized households, 1975-84. Graphical data portray (1) the percent of households victimized by selected violent crimes and theft, 1975-84; (2) the percent of households victimized by selected crimes according to the race of the household head, 1975-84; and (3 the percent of households victimized by selected crimes according to place of residence, 1975-84. Other Bureau of Justice Statistics bulletins and special reports are listed.
