Annotation: This 1985-86 directory lists names, addresses, telephone numbers, and key staff of companies providing security services and manufacturers of security products and services. It also provides information on security training, contracts, security organizations, and product standards.
Abstract: Listings are divided into eight categories: alarm service stations, armored car carriers and vehicle manufacturers, consultants and document examiners, dealers and distributors of security products, guard and patrol services, investigators, polygraph and pre-employment screening services, and security insurance. Each section includes a brief description of the service category and lists the companies in alphabetical order. Manufacturers of security products and systems are categorized as follows: access control, identification systems, and security engineering; alarms detection systems; batteries and emergency power sources; camera and closed circuit television; communications; fire and emergency services; lock manufacturers and physical security products; lighting and signs; and surveillance products. Each section contains an overview of current technology and several product subcategories. The directory also lists providers of specialized services and products, such as bank and financial security, computer security, executive protection, weapons and uniforms, retail security, and safes. A concluding section identifies colleges and universities offering security education, training programs, and FBI and U.S. Attorneys and Marshalls Offices. Also listed are market research reports, books films, and periodicals in the security field, along with national and State trade and professional associations. An index is supplied.
