Chapters on the characteristics and assessment of aggression in adolescence consider the relationship between violence and the psychic reorganization that occurs in adolescence, biological and neuropsychiatric perspectives, and the characteristics of adolescent murderers. The clinical and legal issues involved in predicting adolescent violence and in handling these individuals through the justice system are explored in another section. Six chapters on therapeutic intervention give historical reviews, case examples, and analyses of outcome studies regarding several types of interventions.
