Abstract
The presentation includes a conversation between a jail officer and suicidal inmate; it also focuses on a jail officer's legal responsibility to prevent inmates from committing sucide. An accompanying learning guide summarizes the warning signs of suicide, describes the proper techniques for counseling suicidal inmates, and presents discussion questions designed to reinforce learning.
