Are benefits available for correctional officers who are disabled by an injury while on duty?
The Bureau of Justice Assistance's
Public Safety Officers' Benefits Programs (PSOB)
provide benefits for public safety officers who have been permanently and totally disabled by a catastrophic personal injury sustained in the line-of-duty if that injury permanently prevents the officer from performing any substantial and gainful work. The
PSOB Programs
site provides information about the program, answers to frequently asked questions, and contact information for PSOB staff.
