Are resources available on how correctional facilities can address the problem of prison rape?
Resources designed to assist correctional facilities in addressing the problem of prison rape include: the National PREA Resource Center Web site and their resource, Keeping Vulnerable Populations Safe under PREA: Alternative Strategies to the Use of Segregation in Prisons and Jails; Addressing Sexual Violence in Prisons: A National Snapshot of Approaches and Highlights of Innovative Strategies, produced by the Urban Institute; and the Prison Rape Elimination Act section of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Web site.

For further information about prison rape, also see the Office of Justice Programs' Report on Sexual Victimization in Prisons and Jails, which presents findings of the Review Panel on Prison Rape based on its hearings held in the spring and fall of 2011 and a Bureau of Justice Statistics national survey conducted in August 2010.
