Contributors include about 50 academic and law firm libraries and the Library of Congress. Titles are included in the bibliography if they meet the following criteria: monographic imprint; imprint of 1988 or 1989; and child rights or related content for jurisdictions other than the United States. Titles are arranged by jurisdiction, and within jurisdiction by Library of Congress subject heading. Each title entry includes relevant bibliographic data. Jurisdictions covered by the bibliography include Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and Islamic States, and North America. Publication topics concern adoption, children of immigrants, child custody and support, domestic relations, education, family relationships, and parental kidnapping. Other topics focus on illegitimacy, sex discrimination against women, child abuse, child molestation, family social work, infanticide, juvenile justice, recreation and juvenile delinquency, juvenile corrections, juvenile prostitution, abandoned children, and urban youth. Topics additionally cover unmarried mothers, child welfare, delinquent females, juvenile courts, social work with delinquents and criminals, mentally handicapped children, family violence, foster home care, day care centers, gangs, children as witnesses, black youth, school discipline, child mental health services, and child marriage.
