This unit guide covers learning goals related to public nuisance law, crimes against public law, and deadly weapons and gaming laws that were developed by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
Abstract
The unit of instruction is designed for performance objective-based law enforcement training. It is part of the POST Basic Course Guidelines System devised by California law enforcement trainers and criminal justice educators. Performance objectives are specified for each learning goal, and needed teaching materials and equipment are noted. The guide contains a unit outline and presentation for each learning goal, with objectives and instructional cues annotated. Instructional topics focus on disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, begging, loitering, false representation to the police, prowling, and disturbance of assembly. In addition, topics cover unlawful assembly, rioting, destruction of property, hate violence, religious terrorism, assault or intent to assault, unlawful or concealed weapon possession, and gambling. 13 references
