Crimes in the territory fell from 893 in 1990 to 762 in 1991, with almost all major crimes showing reductions. Eighty persons were arrested for drug offenses in 1991, compared to 51 in 1990. Seizures of cocaine over 15 kilos showed a marked reduction from 1990 to 1991, whereas the amount of cannabis almost doubled. The prosecution of traffic offenses continued to increase; the 1,134 offenses processed in 1991 represented an increase of 234 over 1990. The Police Force has a staff of 124 and has a fully-equipped photographic and fingerprint department. The Police Force also has full-time use of a Piper Navajo aircraft flown and serviced by Royal Air Force personnel. The organization of the Police Force's Marine Section and Force Transport is described, along with administrative changes to make senior personnel responsibilities more equitable.
