This document lists State statutes, current through 1991, requiring sex offenders to register with a government agency.
Abstract
The first section of the compilation lists State laws authorizing HIV testing of sex offenders. The second section lists and summarizes State laws, excluding military and tribal laws, that require convicted sexual offenders to register in some manner with a central registry or with local law enforcement. The annotations define the criminal offenses covered by the statutes, who is covered, the terms of registering and duration of the requirement, and penalties for noncompliance.
