Abstract
Data for appellate courts address Supreme Court caseload and petition activity, written opinions, dispositions, and case processing time. Similar data are supplied for the Court of Appeals. Data for general jurisdiction courts encompass circuit, chancery, and probate courts. Topics addressed are caseload activity, processing times, statewide filings by case type, total cases filed, statewide average filings per judge, and ranking of circuit and chancery courts by filings per judge. Other topics covered for general jurisdiction courts are disposition rates; pending cases over 2 years old; and criminal, civil, chancery, probate, and juvenile caseload summaries. Data for limited jurisdiction courts address municipal and city court caseloads. Also included in this report are a public defenders report, a table of assignment of judges, a description of the court interpreters program, an annual report on judicial education, tables of education conferences and out-of-State education, and a weighted caseload summary.
